Juice It Up Nutrition

Choline on a juice fast?

Wrapping up my 4th day of a juice fast and feel awesome. I’m taking a slurry of supplements alongside the fast and feel no negative effects. I was considering adding choline to it all since I once took a nutrition test that showed I was deficient in it. Whether I still am today, I don’t know. But I just wondered if anyone out there knows about it, and whether there’s any adverse effects. The other supplements are pretty mellow, like acai berry and green tea extract.

And don’t tell me juice fasts suck. Cause they don’t. I’ve been suffering from severe bloating and heart burn for the last few months and by yesterday it was completely gone. And I’ve lost 5 lbs which is kind of nice too. And entirely around my belly by the looks of it, so, I don’t believe all those nay-sayers that say the weight loss is from muscle loss.

I assume that the fast will end at some time soon. So if you return to normal eating, don’t worry about it. Good dietary sources include egg yolks and a lot of meats.
If you were intending to stay on the fast for weeks and weeks, then you might need all kinds of supplements to stay out of the hospital. But you sound like you are a very normal person with good sense and will be working in some other foods soon.
It might be interesting for you to add one food a day. This would allow you to see if any particular foods that you eat are bringing on the symptoms you mentioned.
Choline deficiency is not likely to be a long term chronic condition unless you have a genetic disorder involving it or eat a strictly vegan diet. There may be some vegetarian sources, so this may be managed with vegan eating. I just don’t have the particulars.
